With an eye to writing the Fifth Report on Physical Planning, the Council of the Ministry for Housing, Regional Development and the Environment wanted to gather ideas in the form of four essays based on different perspectives: historical geography, landscape architecture, art history and the social sciences.
The council opted for the use of propositions, which were to provide a historical orientation on landscape design from the past in relation to cultural views on nature, landscape and culture.
